What is this? Why am I here?

If you are wondering what brought you here, you might find the following notes useful:

  • Relax. We will not charge you any bucks for reading. Go on further.
  • If you see this page with the strange name "$1", most likely you have been following a direct (unexpanded) link from some Interwiki map.
  • The trailing "$1" is actually a placeholder that should be replaced by the name of whatever content page you might intend to view (if you are not afraid of German words, try Hauptseite for "Main page").
  • An Interwiki map is a small database that helps in easy linking between different websites, usually Wiki projects running MediaWiki software (for details see [1]).
  • The master Interwiki map maintained by meta.wikimedia.org is available here. On that page you will see a long list of links ending in "$1"; MosaPedia is proud to appear among these.

Welcome

MosaPedia is a Wiki about the (former East-)German comic book Mosaik. The Mosaik is the oldest comic book still being published month by month in Germany. The Heroes of the Mosaik are the Digedags, i.e. Dig, Dag and Digedag (from 1955 until 1975), and the Abrafaxe, i.e. Abrax, Brabax and Califax (from 1976 onwards) respectively.

As of 2015, more than 700 issues have seen the light in 60 years of Mosaik history; additionally there are some graphic novels, lots of comic-strips in Newspapers, a fair amount of secondary literature and last but not least a movie.

The language of this Wiki is (of course) German.
